The Sartiglia is the highest cultural value of the people of Oristano and happen during the Carnival. The Sartiglia originates from a Saracen military competition, probably discovered by the Christian knights during the second crusade and broughtin Europe in the 12th century.
The barefooted race is the festivity more near to us that happen in San Salvatore, between the end of August and the first Sunday of September which corresponts to the final day of the festivities in honour of San Salvatore.
Moreover there is the Ardia, a horse race and most of all a religious feast which takes place at Sedilo from the 5th to the 7th of Julyin honour of San Costantino. Actually San Costantino doesn't exist because in reality we are speaking about the Emperor Costantino.
Every festivity is coloured by the traditionals dresses that change in the different village and town.
